Blog Software

In order to start a blog, you are going to have to choose a blogging platform.

Professionals use
Type Pad. It requires paying a fee every month, but you don’t have the problems associated with using free software.

Word Press is very popular. It is also free. You can have your own domain name and host it on your own account. Everyone claims that it’s easy, but if you’re scared to touch any code, this is not for you. You have to install plug-ins to get the software to perform some tasks, and you will be sorry if this is not something you feel comfortable doing. You also have to keep updating to the latest version.

Blogger is run by Google Adsense and it‘s free. It is very easy to use and you can run Google Adsense ads on it without a problem. They also allow you to buy your own domain name. The only thing to look out for is that Google has been known to suddenly cancel accounts and declare that people are spamming. You could suddenly lose your blog.

Bravenet has been improving their blog and hosting package. You can now get a blog without ads if you buy hosting from them. They also have software called Viviti that will build a website with an attached blog. Bravenet is known for its easy cut and paste tools.

Website X5 software now includes a blog. It’s very easy to use and you can put Adsense ads on it by pasting the code into the Guestbook box. This software is incredible for building websites and blogs, but costs in the vicinity of $100. If you don’t know what you’re doing, this software would be a great help.

If you learned anything useful from this website and would like to donate to help with hosting fees, etc., you can click on the "donate" button. My 22-year-old car isn't going to last much longer. Any donations would be appreciated.
